"No Choice" nails!

The only word that is coming to mind to describe my most recent nail experience 15 minutes ago is, “WOW” and not in a good way! I have been cursing my nail tech’s (love you Deb) name since she moved to FL years ago because I have been in search of the perfect nail tech EVER SINCE! My search has gone unfulfilled and this void still remains and one question still exists; “Why is it so difficult to find a good, quality nail tech”? The search continues and the question still nags…

This blog will serve a few purposes. First, for me to rant about my bizarre experience and second, for me to post a want ad "in search" of the perfect nail tech that I have come to believe does not exist. If you are out there after reading this blog then please respond...

I walked into the clean salon and asked for an acrylic, pink and white rebase. Simple. Yeah? I should have known that I was in trouble when I received blank stares. When I sat down I looked around to check out the service and type of quality that the woman was receiving. I should have bolted (nice use of an 80's word if I do say so myself). The woman next to me was receiving a clear base with red tips! My least favorite EVER and I will mention that I am a huge holiday person but this does not give anyone reason to sport this look and with a smile? Don’t remind me of my Aurora Barbie experience!

A hot pack was placed on my neck before I could come up with an exit strategy and I began to relax and knew I was in for the long haul...
The nail technician began filing and asked me to "pick a color". I told her pink and white. She then switched places with the tech next to me who had her client show me her nails. The tech told me that her client’s nails were "gels" and I nodded trying to look pleased. Then they switched back, the transaction was closed and I received gels instead of acrylics which I had asked for. I thought, "Wait, where am I"? I looked at the biz card, yep! “Choice Nails”. Yeah, not so much. No choices there!
I wanted acrylics but I was told and showed that I would be getting gels. It's an entirely different blog to go into detail about why I dislike gels for me so much....

I know that I am spoiled when it comes to how I like my nails but I am searching for the tech that can appreciate a perfect pink shade, a bright white, smile lines and a thin nail. Please, if you are out there, email me ASAP. These gel suckers may only hold for another week!
