I love this idea more than you can imagine! Have you ever searched high and low for that perfect dress only to wear it once to that one specific event?

Of course, at the time, you justified to yourself that you would wear it at least three more times and therefore the “cost per wear” analysis made sense so you purchased the dress right? Right! And now where does that dress and the other dresses for special occasions hang? In the back of the closet of course!

Now don’t get me wrong! I love my skinny jeans and if it were up to me I would probably wear jeans everyday but it is important to not fall into fashion ruts like that and to try different things. I want you all to know that we do have options and tons when it comes to the department of jeans and if your skinny’s are like mine, they could use a break and would enjoy being placed on a hanger for a few days!

What are all of these options you ask!

Many of us take the opportunity of a new year to set goals and many of us do not! For the people who choose not to set goals the main reason behind many that I spoke to was that they don’t want to fail and that setting a goal that they are not going to reach sets them up for failure. That got me thinking. Were the goals they were setting unattainable or unrealistic? The common goal I heard from most was to lose weight. In fact that is 80% of the populations New Year’s resolution.

Walking into Target during the holidays, one would expect to see holiday decorations galore but instead there are racks and racks of bathing suits

This time of year is full of fabulous food and drinks, staying up late and being away from home. The last thing on our minds is going to the gym to shed our winter skin, never mind jumping into a dressing room to put on a bikini! Not to mention the fact that most of us are white as a ghost, and that the idea of seeing ourselves half naked and surrounded by mirrors is quite honestly rather frightening.

The only word that is coming to mind to describe my most recent nail experience 15 minutes ago is, “WOW” and not in a good way! I have been cursing my nail tech’s (love you Deb) name since she moved to FL years ago because I have been in search of the perfect nail tech EVER SINCE! My search has gone unfulfilled and this void still remains and one question still exists; “Why is it so difficult to find a good, quality nail tech”? The search continues and the question still nags…

I know that one of my fondest memories of Carrie Bradshaw was that infamous flower pin she would wear. Well, now it is back and bigger and better than before! This larger than life flower pin can bring any LBD to life, especially during the holiday season. Or, use it to put the finishing touches on any outfit that is begging for a little more something...

Why does it seem that at this time of year I find myself purchasing, or wanting to purchase, new outfits for holiday parties & outings? I never think to remember the many holiday outfits from previous years that are still sitting in my closet, some never even worn and with the tags still on.

As the New Year is fast approaching many of us will find ourselves in our closets choosing the perfect outfit for that holiday party and realizing that our closets are unorganized and packed with clothes we wonder why we ever purchased.

Out at the mall yesterday I saw a woman wearing a form fitting blue dress and thought to myself, wow what a great color! Then as I got closer I saw that the dress was way too tight and did not flatter her “curves.” I then found myself saying out loud, “haven’t you ever heard of Spanx?”

I have never understood how some people think it’s okay to squeeze into clothes that are way too small, too short or too low cut. It just looks tacky and cheap.
